On May 16, 2026, the Bloomington Symphony will perform Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at IU’s Musical Arts Center, along with a 100-piece community choir. Would you like to join that choir or audition to be a soloist?
Choir sign up information
Choir rehearsals start in April with the following local choirs:
- UU Church
- First Presbyterian Church
- Voces Novae (Monday nights)
- Bloomington Chamber Singers (Tuesday nights)
If you are already a member of one of those choirs, you do not need to fill out the sign up sheet. If you are not a member of one of these choirs, we ask that you join either Voces Novae or Bloomington Chamber Singers in April for their rehearsals, and fill out the above sign up sheet.
Then combined rehearsals are the following times, all at Faith Lutheran Church:
- May 5th (Tue), 7:00pm-9:00pm, at Faith Lutheran Church
- May 9th (Sat), 7:00pm-9:00pm, at Faith Lutheran Church
- May 12th (Tue), 7:00pm-8pm, at Faith Lutheran Church w/BSO
- May 14th (Thu), 7:00pm-8pm, at Faith Lutheran Church w/BSO
Concert is on Saturday May 16, 2026 at IU Musical Arts Center
- 3:00pm – choir warm-up
- 4:00pm-6:00pm – Sound Check with Orchestra
- 7:00pm: Performance
Solo auditions information:
Applications are due by February 24, and we will let you know of your audition time by Feb 28.
Auditions will be held Tuesday March 3rd, 5-7pm in the sanctuary of Faith Lutheran Church. Let us know if that time does not work for you.

Soloists will each receive a $200 stipend.
