Production Stage Manager
Job description:
The BSO production stage manager assumes the primary role for all matters involving performance space, equipment rental and transportation, and the physical and technical aspect of all concert performances.
Time commitment:
- Performance Dates: March 7, 2026, 11am-8pm. May 16, 1pm-10pm. Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 dates TBD. Previous years included concerts the last Sunday of August, a Sunday in October, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and the first Tuesday in December.
- Other: Arrange for transportation of equipment to and from the performance venues, attend virtual technical planning meetings for each concert, approximately 2 hours per concert.
- Minimum 1 year commitment required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to drive a small rental truck
- Comfortability with moving securing musical instruments for transport
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with A/V equipment
- Knowledge of orchestral instruments and stage set up
- Previous experience in a performing arts environment
Compensation: $300 per concert day
